Lipstick Revlon 'Orange Flip'
I made this dress earlier this year to wear throughout the colder months (it's made out of thick jersey material, like a jumper, and looking at these pictures I've noticed the collar is wildly unsymmetrical), and only just a couple of weeks ago did I realise its colours perfectly reflect approximately half of our bookshelves' occupants: the ubiquitous classic Penguins. So In honour of my shabby sewing skills and our book addiction, I thought I'd do a compare-and-contrast look at just some of the little guys who live on our shelves.
Full disclosure: both Toby and I work in a secondhand bookshop, which is not conducive to keeping our flat uncluttered or book-minimal (although why you would want that situation is beyond me). In fact we only own one bookshelf, which might be enough for some people, but I would estimate we have at least twice as many books in piles all over the place (kitchen table, bedroom floor, under the bed, still in boxes from when we moved in June) as we do on that one bookshelf, and the addiction shows no signs of slowing. One day we will be able to build our own house out of books.
There are worse problems to have.
